New Freshwater Pearls launched..
There is a new collection of freshwater peral pieces that have been launched in time for Mother’s Day. A few of the pieces are dyed pearls, in colours of blue or gold. These coloured pearls need to be looked after carefully, as the dye is placed on top of the surface of the pearl, there is not a heat process, as with semi-precious stones, to achieve the final colour. Try to avoid the pearls coming into contact with anything abrasive, such as cleaning detergents, perfumes, moisturisers etc.
Gold Mini Freshwater Pearls, Sterling Silver, Drop Earrings.

The dyeing process for freshwater pearls usually takes several weeks, and the dye penetrates the pearl, making the color permanent. There is therefore no risk of dye peeling off. You still have to care for these pearls as much as any pearl though.
You still have to be very careful, as lower graded quality pearls will not always use this practised method. They will employ less expensive treatments that will not always fully penetrate the pearl, allowing for possible uneven colouration.
