Halston Label bought by Movie Producers.
The iconic Halston label, famous with the jet set in the 60’s and 70’s, has just been bought by the Weinstein brothers, in partnership with with an investment firm.
Roy Halston was devoted to simplicity and elegance, and his influence can be seen today in designers such as Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. He dressed many celebrities; Liz Taylor, Lauren Bacall, Liza Minelli and possibly was most recogonisble for his pill box hats for Jackie Onassis:

It is thought that those on board for Creative Direction are; Tamara Mellon, of Jimmy Choo fame, and Rachel Zoe, stylist who is synomous with the bug eyed sunglasses, chunky bracelets and prairie look. Zoe has styled many celebrities, such as Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton.
Many believe to this day that Roy Halston was the best ever Fashion Designer that America produced, so it will be interesting to the new direction of this new partnership.
