The Rise of Designer Canvas Tote Handbags-Anya Hindmarch and Louis Vuitton.
Over the past couple of months there appears to have been a multitude of Designer Tote handbags at extreme prices, but this time they are all made from an exceptionally inexpensive material, cotton canvas!
A couple of months ago, Anya Hindmarch had launched her “It’s not a plastic bag” in conjunction with Sainsbury’s in a bid to cut down on the use of plastic bags. This bag was only £5 and sold out instantly and infact, as becoming the norm, ended up selling on ebay for a over £150. This is a realistic price point when you realise the inexpensive of producing a canvas tote, so it would beg to differ why on earth Louis Vuitton are charging £850, for their “That’s Love” Canvas Tote. This bag has quickly become the bag of the summer and has been seen on endless celebrity arms. It is a pretty bag but I would personally rather spend such a price on a good leather bag, or infact 2!

I suppose it is personal preference, but when you consider that the Anya Hindmarch canvas bag was sold at £5 and that all high street stores sell them at around the £10 mark, it would suggest an extremely high price.
