Marc Jacobs back to front shoe…
Marc Jacobs has designed the world’s first back to front shoe which cost, £270 for a plain pair or £330 for a design with Swarovski Crystals.
The shoe consists of a chunky 4 inch heel which is below the foot horizontally and where the heel would normally be is nothing but fresh air. Due to the expanse of air, the centre of gravity of the body is thrown somewhere under the arch of the foot which forces the body to tilt forward. This therefore makes it quite a feat to actually walk and stay upright in these shoes.
