The latest bag of the season is the Limited Edition Burberry Warrior. This handbag has a price tag of £13, 000 and is made from either matte or glossy exotic skins, such as python or alligator. The handbag is of  a slouchy design and is about a foot long. Inside the bag, amongst it’s silk lining, is a gold plate on which the owner’s initials can be engraved. The bag is finished with vintage gold rivets and fastenings. 

Designer handbags are continually proving to be a top seller for fashion brands. This could appear to be due to the high street’s increasing ability to produce good quality copies of the latest catwalk collections, which at times are exceptionally difficult to differentiate from the real thing. Designer handbags are proving more difficult to copy to such a high standard,  due to the expense of leathers/fabrics and trimmings used. Such popularity is also attributing to the 55% increase in the average cost of a designer handbag since 2005. The average cost is now £850. (Daily Mail 10.01.08)
